OLLI 0208 - Keith Reopelle / Climate Change
Course Description
Climate change is impacting Wisconsin’s natural resources in every corner of the state. Wisconsin is blessed with an incredibly rich diversity of ecosystems, and many of those ecosystems are changing very rapidly due to climate change. They are changing so quickly that much of the flora and fauna that make up these ecosystems are unable to adapt to the changes. In this presentation, Keith Reopelle will highlight some of the wildlife species that are most impacted by climate change. The Northwood’s iconic common loon, snowshoe hares, already endangered butterflies and brook trout are just a few of the many species we’ll gain a better understanding of. The presentation will also include actions that all of us can take to give these animals we love a better chance of surviving in their native Wisconsin habitat. Reopelle is currently the Chair of Wisconsin’s Green Fire’s Climate and Clean Energy Workgroup.
